Horsethief Books publishes books, chapbooks, and a digital magazine, in order to make public a diverse range of voices—both emerging and established.

Dean Young says, "What I know of form can fill a thimble, but what form knows of me will be the end of me." We believe in the line. We believe in the book, too. They both know an end is coming and enact that knowledge in their shape and structure. We hope to retain that inbuilt wisdom as we take advantage of the digital publishing space.

Our interests aren't merely ones and zeros, however. Horsethief believes in the necessity of the physical book as well but believes also that the only way to justify the continued existence of physical books, in a moment where digital reading has become ubiquitous, is to raise the design and material quality standards of those objects. With that in mind, we plan to publish in longlasting hardcover.
